Lake Como is located in the Lombardy in northern Italy. The lake, with its three narrow arms, covers an area of 146 km² and is shaped like an inverted Y. In the north lies Colico, in the southeast Lecco and in the southwest the city of Como. A detour with the funicular up to the mountain village of Brunate is a very special experience.
The villages along the lakeshore are particularly picturesque and characteristic, there are wonderful villas and romantic gardens, such as Villa Carlotta in Tremezzina, which invite you to take a stroll.
On the opposite side of the lake from Tremezzina is the picturesque town of Bellagio, known for the wonderful lake promenade and Villa Melzi with one of the most beautiful parks in Italy. Particularly impressive is the Villa Serbelloni, which thrones on a hill above Bellagio, this Villa is owned by the Rockefeller Foundation since 1959.
Who does not know the action scenes from the James Bond film Casino Royale, which were filmed on a small peninsula with the imposing Villa del Balbianello in the village Lenno. Speaking of big cinema, the American film actor George Clooney owns the Villa Oleandra in Laglio on the lakeshore just a few kilometers south of Lenno..

Im Norden liegt Colico, im Südosten Lecco und im Südwesten die Stadt Como. Ein Abstecher mit der Standseilbahn hinauf ins Bergdorf Brunate ist ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis.
Die Ortschaften entlang der Seeufer sind besonders pittoresk und charakteristisch, zu sehen gibt es wundervolle Villen und romantische Gärten, wie zum Beispiel die Villa Carlotta in Tremezzina, die zum spazieren einladen.
Auf der gegenüberliegenden Seeseite von Tremezzina liegt das malerische Städtchen Bellagio, bekannt für die herrliche Seepromenade und die Villa Melzi mit einer der schönsten Parkanlagen Italiens.
