The Hotel Cheval Blanc, St. Barth Isle de France, destroyed by hurrican Irma shines again in new splendor

Like many other hotels on the Caribbean island of St. Barth, the Hotel Cheval Blanc St. Barth Isle de France on Flamands Bay was severely damaged by hurricane Irma two years ago. After this devastating catastrophe in September 2017, it would have been hard to believe that this exclusive hotel complex would welcome guests again in just over a year.

The hotel reopened in December 2018 and shines again in new splendor. In my opinion, this is an extraordinary achievement, bearing in mind that all building materials had to be transported by ship to this small Caribbean island. The same applies to dozens of construction workers and craftsmen who had to be recruited mainly from France and Portugal to get this hotel up and running again in such a short time.

Wie viele andere Hotels auf der karibischen Insel St. Barth wurde auch das Hotel Cheval Blanc St. Barth Isle de France an der Flamands Bay vor zwei Jahren durch den Wirbelsturm Irma schwer beschädigt. Nach dieser verheerenden Katastrophe im September 2017 hätte man nicht glauben können, dass dieser exklusive Hotelkomplex in nur etwas mehr als einem Jahr bereits wieder Gäste begrüßen würde.

Das Hotel wurde im Dezember wiedereröffnet und erstrahlt wieder in neuem Glanz. Meiner Meinung nach ist dies eine außergewöhnliche Leistung, wenn man bedenkt, dass das gesamte Baumaterial per Schiff zu dieser kleinen karibischen Insel transportiert werden musste. Gleiches gilt für Dutzende von Bauarbeitern und Handwerkern, die vor allem aus Frankreich und Portugal eingestellt werden mussten um dieses Hotel in so kurzer Zeit wieder in Betrieb zu nehmen.
