Rhinefall in Switzerland

The Rhinefall in Switzerland is one of the three largest waterfalls in Europe. It has a height of 23 meters and a width of 150 meters. With a normal water supply, about 400 cubic meters of water per second fall over the rocks.

On both sides of the Rhine you can reach viewing platforms with a spectacular view of the Rheinefall. At the Rhinefall‘s basin in Neuhausen (canton Schaffhausen) lies the castle Wörth. From there you can reach the middle rock of the Rhinefall with a small boat and marvel at the falling mass of water after ascending the viewing platform on this rock via small steps. On the Zurich side you can reach the viewing platforms over the castle Laufen. There is ample parking for the visitors and the visit is chargeable.

  3. Beautiful. Actually I have an old post about this but unfortunately we got lost up to German border and remembering I don’t have my passport with me so we went back and go to Zug instead on the way to Zurich.
