Yesterday I once again took the train to Zurich. On the way to my meeting place with a friend, I walked through the great hall of the Zurich train station. And there, near the exit of the hall, in the direction of the river Limmat, is it, illuminated in a transparent shaft with the mass of about 50x50x30 cm, the gilded ball with the name “La Boule d’Or Centenaire”, which since May 9, 2008 is displayed for one hundred years. An art action by Dieter Meier, a successful Zurich musician (“Yellow” together with Boris Blank), entrepreneur and action artist. The ball is taken out of the shaft 8 times and rolled over a distance of 12 meters on the “Bois du voyage d’or”, the last time on May 9, 2108. Do not miss the next take-out on August 28, 2033. Gestern bin ich wieder einmal mit dem Zug nach Zürich gefahren. Auf dem Weg zu meinem Treffpunkt mit einem Freund ging ich durch die große Halle des Zürcher Bahnhofs. Und dort, nahe dem Ausgang der Halle, in Richtung Limmat, ist sie, beleuchtet in einem durchsichtigen Schacht mit den Massen von ca. 50x50x30 cm, die vergoldete Kugel mit dem Namen “La Boule d’Or Centenaire”, die seit dem 9. Mai 2008 für hundert Jahren ausgestellt wird. Eine Kunstaktion von Dieter Meier, ein erfolgreicher Zürcher Musiker (“Yellow” zusammen mit Boris Blank), Unternehmer und Aktionskünstler. Die Kugel wird 8 Mal aus dem Schacht genommen, und über eine Distanz von 12 Meter auf dem “Bois du voyage d’or” ausgerollt, das letzte Mal am 9. Mai 2108.
